6200 people have died in Turkey and Syria so far

- India on Tuesday sent a search and rescue team with dog squad, army field hospital and relief material in four military aircraft to Turkey. - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday declared a three-month state of emergency in 10 southeastern provinces affected by the earthquake. Erdogan said that a number of emergency measures would be taken in the affected areas with humanitarian relief workers and financial aid. We will quickly complete the procedures related to this decision, which will cover our 10 provinces. Erdogan said his government would send more than 50,000 aid workers to the region and allocate 100 billion lira ($5.3 billion) in financial aid. Turkish officials said that more than 2,600 emergency health and rescue personnel from 45 countries had been deployed to the affected areas as of Tuesday.

- Appreciating India's help, Turkish Ambassador to India Farat Sunel said on Tuesday that India is among the countries that are sending teams for search and rescue operations. Describing India as a friend, he said that India's help is a great moral support for the country. He recalled the Covid period when Turkey sent two carriers loaded with medical aid to India and said the same thing is being repeated as New Delhi is also providing aid to Ankara. The Turkish ambassador said, "A friend in need is a true friend."
